THE BLUE CANOE

It was an adventure, the day our ‘ol lady blue, became part of the Camp Crew.

She’s 16 feet long, and still ready for a solid day out on the river.

Josh found her online, Rachel spent a few days chatting with the past owner Richard, and then Rachel & Nick went on an epic road trip of a lifetime.

They hooked up her 8 foot utility trailer, to the small jeep and headed East. Once they arrived to East Moline, Rachel & Nick quickly became best friends with Richard- learning about ‘ol lady blue’s adventures, along with getting to meet some of the neighbors and learning all the QC tea.
Rachel was unaware that if something was hanging over the end of a trailer, that the flag was supposed to be red… so they improvised and used some of the fabric from her art market table cloth. The makeshift flag still hangs from ‘ol lady blue, to this day. With literally half of the canoe hanging over the end of the trailer, they had to take back roads and go about 40 mph the entire way (the drive back was about 2.5 hours)- which meant that there was extra time for carpool karaoke & embarrassing stories.

We are still unsure of how they did not get pulled over, but it truly was a Camp miracle.

You can find our ‘ol lady blue canoe, hanging from the celling, whenever you come to visit!
